What would you like to see?
[ Category: All | Subcategory: All ]

As I said in the previous post, changes are coming to this site. What would you like to see? This is what I would like to know - Take some time and join the discussion I have started. What tutorials would you like to see? More Unreal Tournament oriented things? What features would you like to see on this site? Things like music, custom texture sets, user files, etc. If you want to see it on this site, tell us in the discussion.

It would be of interest to see all the steps gone through to make a finished level, with screenshots of the level through the phases. A small but semi-interesting level would suffice with a step-by-step recreation process tutorial. The level could include some interactive features like triggers and perhaps some ambient thigns such as dynamic light flickering/changing.

0004 - We want user files

I would suggest adding user files. Like textures, ambient sounds, maps, music. Stuff like that. And you could also have a texture set/map/sound pack/whatever of the week.

Thank you,

0006 - BSP Tutorial

I'd like to see something on how to find and fix BSP holes as well as optimizing the map using the 'order brushes' to first/last option. Also good would be a discussion of the role and uses of semi-solid brushes. A discussion of the BSP menu options and what they do would also be great. This information is very hard to come by anywhere.

0007 - Helpful Console Commands for Mappers

A tutorial on the console commands available to mappers to help them optimize or troubleshoot their maps. Sure you can hunt through the console commands list and figure these out through trial and error eventually, but it sure would be handy to have a list of the helpful ones, what they do and what you can use them for. STAT FPS and STAT MESH are a couple that come to mind.

0008 - User Made Stuff

What someone said earlier about User maps, texture sets, music, and sounds of the week. And once the week is over, don't just toss them, make an archive for people who come back often to retrieve the 'old' stuff when they didn't have time to during that particular week. And to clarify what I mean by user maps, I know you don't want a whole archive of maps for Unreal and UT. But just pick out the best ones or ones made by those who run this site. Something like that. ;)
