Level Design: Movers

D. Setting up the keyframes and other Doorlike attributes

Right click on the mover to bring up its properties.

Our first task is to set up the mover itself. Open the mover's properties and expand the Mover section. Since our mover will be triggered, I set bUseTriggered to true. Adjust the movetime for how long you wish it to take to open (note it will take that long to close aswell, so if your movetime is 5, it will take 5 seconds to open, wait for the stayopentime (if any) and then take 5 seconds to close). I also set the mover to be dynamically lit for realism.

Enableing triggerability

Next we need to set up the mover to be used by the trigger. Open the object and events sections up. Set the initialstate for triggertoggle (this way everytime you trigger the mover will go to the previous position). Then make the event something, in my case, bridge. Now all you need to do is add a trigger and change its event to bridge. (For info on triggers, see the Triggers tutorial)

Giving the mover a tag for the trigger to recognize

Now add spiffy lighting, rebuild, and fire her up!
